Perfectly framed

Windows help define a property, enhancing both its interior design and exterior appearance by adding style, character and kerb appeal as well as providing security and insulation.

RJP craft made-to-measure windows using Swiss-made precision tools to ensure they fit perfectly. Custom-designed to your specifications and hand-finished with meticulous attention to detail, frames are treated to preserve and protect them from the elements then factory-finished with a high gloss or matt paint in a colour of your choice or alternatively a wax oil can be applied to hardwood windows to enhance the natural grain of the wood. Finishes will normally last up to 10-years and require very little maintenance.

Windows are glazed with Pilkington K Glass double glazed units which conserve heat and provide the best energy-efficiency, ensuring they achieve a Window Energy Rating (WER) band A which exceeds the latest energy-saving Building Regulations. Factory-installed high quality architectural ironmongery, including fixings and fittings, add the perfect finishing touch.

Why wood is best for windows

Wood is the best material for windows in any kind of property, whether traditional or contemporary-style, new build or period, residential or commercial. Naturally insulating and easy to maintain, wooden windows frames have a service life of at least twice those made of PVCu (uPVC). A study carried out by The Wood Window Alliance and Heriot-Watt University found that wooden window frames have a lifespan of over 60 years, offering better long-term value and also being considered as carbon negative so are kinder to the environment than those made of PVCu (uPVC). Windows made from wood can also affect the value of your property; BBC research states that the value of a period home could be worth up to £12,000 less if the windows are made of PVCu (uPVC).
